Experience
- For over a year and a half, I taught ESL at the Escuela Politécnica Nacional in Quito, Ecuador. I worked with students ranging from teenagers in high school to undergraduate engineering majors to adult professionals looking to take their careers to the next level by learning English. I am also TEFL-certified. - While an undergraduate at Princeton, I volunteered with a prison education program in Bordentown, NJ. I tutored prisoners in math, social studies, and basic science to help them earn their GED degree. - While at Princeton, I also tutored underprivileged schoolchildren through an afterschool library program in Trenton, NJ. - The summer before I moved to Ecuador, I volunteered as an assistant to art instructors teaching summer camp classes at the Hunterdon Art Museum. - I have experience with writing in a wide variety of fields, including policy, political science, history, sociology, and anthropology. I also have experience writing for non-profit organizations. Along with my writing experience, I have plenty of academic research experience, having completed a 90-page undergraduate thesis on U.S.-Latin American drug policy. - I placed in the 96th percentile on the SAT exam. - I am highly proficient in Spanish, having lived, studied, and worked extensively in different parts of the Spanish-speaking world.
