Private tutor in Plainfield, NJ
Education
Rutgers University-New Brunswick - BA, Communication
Experience
I attended Rutgers University where I earned my BA in Communications. Prior to that, I had been working for over a decade as an executive assistant, but my college education led me to the decision to become a teacher. I earned my certification in 2013 and have been a substitute teacher since then. I love it. I am able to tutor in a variety of subjects, but I do favor math, writing, and reading. I've found my teaching methods successful, and I believe part of that is because I not only teach the content required for each lesson, but I also discuss with my students why it is important. I show them examples from real life so they can see why it will be easier to know the information. Another reason I excel in tutoring is because I get to know the things the students are interested, and integrate them into examples during lessons. I kind of sneak the learning part in. When I'm not teaching or tutoring, I like watching movies, playing video games, and watching TV, but mostly, I love to read. I also have a passion for music, and like to learn more about the history and evolution of music.

Hobbies
In my off hours, I enjoy stories of all sorts, be that movies or video games, the odd television show (though I don't watch much TV), and lots of books. I also am a music aficionado with a love of the history and evolution of modern music.
